Данный выпуск Трудов посвящен памяти открывателя нового центра древневосточной цивилизации, основателя и постоянного руководителя Маргианской археологической экспедиции В.И. Сарианиди. Он состоит из трех разделов. В первый из них включены воспоминания друзей и коллег выдающегося археолога; во второй – описание и анализ новых находок и открытий, сделанных на известном памятнике эпохи бронзы Гонур-депе (2300-1600 до н.э.); а в третий - характеристика Гонура и других объектов Бактрийско-Маргианского археологического комплекса (БМАК) в сравнительном контексте с синхронными памятниками Центральной Азии и Ближнего Востока. Затрагиваются вопросы строительства и архитектуры, древней металлургии, мировоззрения населения, глиптики и сфрагистики, биоархеологических реконструкций, реставрации археологических предметов. Значительное место уделяется анализу торговых и культурных связей в пространстве Евразии, значению древней дельты Мургаба как перекрестка путей. Вводится в научный оборот ряд новых уникальных объектов эпохи бронзы, в том числе найденные и на Гонуре.

This issue of Transactions is devoted to the memory of the discoverer of a new center of ancient oriental civilization, the founder and the permanent head of the Margiana archaeological expedition Victor Sarianidi. It consists of three sections. The first one included the memories of friends and colleagues about the outstanding archaeologist; the second one – description and analysis of new findings and discoveries made in the famous Bronze Age archaeological site Gonur Depot (2300-1600 BC); and the third one – the characteristics of Gonur and other objects of the Bactria-Margiana archaeological complex (BMAC) in a comparative context with synchronous monuments of Central Asia and the Middle East. The construction and architecture, ancient metallurgy, ideology, glyptic and sphragistics, bioarchaeological reconstructions, restoration of archaeological objects are affected. The significant attention is given to the analysis of trade and cultural relations in the Eurasian area, to the value of the ancient delta of the Murghab river as the crossroads. New series of unique Bronze age objects, including those have found at Gonur are introducing into scientific circulation.

Очередной том Трудов экспедиции освещает часть работ, проведенных в рамках Соглашения о со-
трудничестве между ИЭА РАН и Министерством культуры Туркменистана на памятнике Гонур-депе
в Юго-Восточных Каракумах. Кратко описываются археологические, в том числе стратиграфические
работы, а также палеоантропологические, палеопатологические, археоэкологические, геохимические
и магнитометрические исследования. Обсуждается социальная структура маргианского общества, тор-
говля слоновой костью, методические вопросы определения возраста по костному материалу и некоторые
этнографические сюжеты. Затрагиваются проблема локализации первичного очага носителей индоевро-
пейских языков и ряд тем палеоантропологии Таджикистана. Издание предназначено для специалистов
по археологии, антропологии, этнографии и истории Евразии.

The next volume of the Transactions covers a part of the works carried out under the Cooperation Agreement
between the IEA RAS and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan at the Gonur-depe archaeological site in the
southeast Karakum desert. Archaeological, including stratigraphic works, as well as paleoanthropological,
paleopathological, archaeoecological, geochemical, and magnetometric studies are briefly described. The
social structure of the Margiana society, the ivory trade, the methodological aspects of the age determination
based on the bone material and some ethnographic themes are discussed. The problem of localization of the
primary center of Indo-European speakers and a number of themes on the paleoanthropology of Tajikistan
are touched upon. The publication is intended for specialists in archaeology, anthropology, ethnography and
history of Eurasia.

Данный выпуск Трудов включает значительный мемориальный раздел, посвященный ушедшим из жизни коллегам, основателям данной серии и друзьям Маргианской экспедиции — П.М. Кожину, М.Ф. Косареву и О. Леконту. Публикуется ряд неизвестных ранее работ П.М. Кожина. Приводится информация о раскопках 2015–2019 гг. на Гонуре и в музеях Туркменистана, дается архитектурный анализ ряда сооружений Гонура и описываются особенности технологии изготовления керамики, а также анализируются остеологические данные. Публикуются результаты изучения могильников в Восточном Иране и на территории Пенджикентского района Таджикистана, а также сведения о распространении разных форм мечей на территории Древнего Востока и долины р. Инд. Завершает книгу раздел о гордости Туркменистана – ахалтекинских скакунах.
Издание предназначено для археологов, антропологов и историков архитектуры.
This issueof Transaction includes a large memorial section dedicated to the deceased colleagues, founders of this series and friends of the Margiana expedition – Pavel M. Kozhin, Michael F. Kosarev and Olivier Lecomte. A number of previously unknown works by Pavel M. Kozhin is publishing. Information on excavations in 2015–2019 is provided at Gonur and in museums of Turkmenistan, an architectural analysis of a number of structures of Gonur is given and the features of the technology of pottery making as well as bioarchaeological data are described. The results of the study of burial grounds in Eastern Iran and on the territory of the Pendjikent region of Tajikistan are published as well as information about the distribution of different forms of swords on the territory of the Ancient East and the valley of the river Indus. A section about the pride of Turkmenistan - Akhal-Teke horses ends the book .
The issue is intended for archaeologists, anthropologists and historians of architecture.
